Toucan created its platform based on payments industry knowledge and emerging technologies with a global outlook and customized for local market options.
Role Description
The “Functional Lead: Credit Cards” will play a pivotal role in driving the functional aspects of developing credit card products and services, ensuring they meet the highest standards of performance, compliance, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide functional direction and leadership for the credit cards domain (Merchant Acquisition, Card Issuing, and Switch) and new-age payments, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to drive product development, enhancements, and innovation.
- Work closely with stakeholders to gather and analyze market needs and business requirements and translate them into user stories.
- Lead the functional design of credit card products and features, ensuring they align with business objectives and customer needs.
- Coordinate with quality assurance teams to ensure that they meet regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal guidelines.
- Ensure that credit card products and processes comply with regulatory requirements and industry standards proactively identifying and mitigating risks.
- Stay updated on the latest regulations and compliance standards in the card industry and ensure that the systems and processes are compliant.
- Conduct domain training sessions and knowledge-sharing initiatives to empower team members and stakeholders with a thorough understanding of credit card products and processes.
- Collaborate with customer service and experience teams to enhance the overall customer experience for credit card users, addressing feedback and resolving issues promptly.
- Manage relationships with third-party vendors and partners involved in providing credit card-related services, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and standards.
- Participate in customer demos.
Preferred skills and qualifications
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in business administration, finance, computer science, or related field.
- 12 years of proven experience in a similar role within the fintech or banking industry, with a prime focus on credit cards.
- Strong understanding of credit card products, services, regulations, and industry best practices.
- Deeper understanding of message formats. (8583, 20222)
- Exposure to core banking interfaces
- Experience in leading cross-functional teams and driving product development initiatives.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and leadership abilities.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Strong, agile development experience
